双寺在西城区旧鼓楼北大街双寺胡同ll号。明成化十六年（1480）尚膳监太监刘祥、高通等人出资改建。分为东西二区，东为嘉慈寺（现已无存），西为广济寺。万历三十一年（1603）重修。胡同因寺得名。
